Lights!
Cameras! interAction! It may not look like it, but plants and animals are constantly interact with each other and their environment. With the right tools, scientists can see in the dark and "speed up time" so that hidden or very slow changes become obvious. Students and visitors at the Ocean Institute use digital time-lapse video to "speed up time" and see tidepool animals spring to life. Biologist Luke Miller uses time-lapse to study limpet behavior over several days. Visitors at the Ocean Institute operate an underwater robot to explore the Ocean Tank. |
